State Fair of Texas!!

The State Fair opened this weekend and of course we had to go! Jack was so excited to see Big Tex and ride the Texas Star! I thought the kids might get scared from being so high up but they both loved it! A cold front blew in Saturday evening so the weather was perfect on Sunday morning. We took the DART train to Fair Park and spent a few hours exploring, going on rides, checking out the new Children's Aquarium and sampling some fried food.

SMU Tailgating

We finally made it to the Boulevard for tailgating at SMU. We were all sporting our SMU gear for John's latest alum. Tonight they're playing TCU (ranked #4) so it was crazy crowded. We enjoyed free food & drinks at the law school tent and then walked around to see all the parties.

Go Green Dragons!

Jack had his first day of YMCA small fry soccer today. His team is called the Green Dragons. We had so much fun shopping for all his gear last weekend. Who knew they made such small shin guards and soccer cleats?! He loves his Puma shoes and under armour green shirt. And the best part - his bright yellow soccer ball!

At this age, they mainly work on little drills - running, passing and kicking. The last 15 minutes is a scrimmage game against another team. Most kids were not thrilled to join in the chaos of the game. Jack wanted to kick a goal but refused to take the ball away from the mass of kids trying to kick it. There was pushing, head collisions and crying. It was hilarious. Hopefully he'll get a little braver each Saturday.

Goodnight Gorilla

Finally a video of Isabel and her animal noises. I forgot a couple of her favorites - "neigh" for horsie and "ah ah" for monkey but I was laughing so hard at her enthusiastic responses. Too funny that she says "Good Night" when you ask her what a Gorilla says. Still one of her favorite books.
