Grandma & Aunt Karen's Visit

Grandma Rankin and Aunt Karen came to visit for a week starting on October 11th. My Mom & Aunt are twins so it was funny to hear Isabel calling them both Grandma. She had them figured out by the end of their trip though! We had gorgeous weather the entire week (a heat wave for them since Seattle is cold & rainy this time of year). We were busy the entire week, starting with a trip to the State Fair. We had to get corny dogs of course and fried oreos again. Jack also wanted to try his first carmel apple - loved it!

Throughout the week we played at several playgrounds, shopped, ran around the zoo for several hours and John & I even managed to sneak in a date night while Grandma & Karen babysat. We took the kids to their first Halloween party of the year at the Little Gym. Jack is a firefighter and Isabel is his fire dog, Spot.

After Jack's soccer game on Saturday, we went to the Arboretum to run around and have a picnic. For Grandma & Aunt Karen's last night in Texas, we walked to our favorite mexican restaurant, Banditos. Yum!

Pumpkins!!

Isabel screams pumpkins every time we see one - she just loves them! This great shot was from our play date at the Dallas Arboretum 2 weeks ago. They have 40,000 pumpkins this year. She grabbed a little pumpkin and said "cheese"!

Tyler Rose Half Marathon 10.10.10

We ran the Tyler Rose Half Marathon with our good friends, Haley & Lee Pannier. It was their first half and they were awesome! Not my favorite race thanks to all the hills in Tyler (who knew Texas had hills)! Maybe this helped me run a little faster on the downhill parts because I just barely made my goal of finishing under 2 hours - by 6 seconds. We were all so psyched after the race that we signed up for the DRC Half Marathon in Dallas on November 7th. Now I'm thinking we were just a little crazy. ;)

Where has October gone? I am so behind on posts. I will bombard this blog in the next few days with all our fun adventures.
